How can LCM help me?

As well as produce fully integrated movie, video and media arts we provide training and social enterprise consultancy. So we can help everyone with something to offer the community E.g. you are a Dance teacher or a training college and you want to publsih learning DVD's and develop e-commerce

Why does LCM CIC use different trading names?

Our services are divided into divisions to allow us to specialise the work with small teams which have a different approach yet are managed by our company aims and objectives - enabling us to fully integrate the work technically as well as philosophically

Can I get involved and work for LCM CIC?

Yes - we are always looking to expand our network of freelance technicians and creatives.

If you are a music composer, photographer, editor etc. why not gives us a ring or send us your CV with a cover letter. Most of our projects start out with little or no funding - however a good idea is priceless so its always worth discussing.

What is a community interest company (CIC)?

A CIC is a new type of company, designed for social enterprises that want to use their profits and assets for the public good. CICs have all the flexibility and certainty of the company form, but with some special features to ensure they are working for the benefit of the community.

What is a Social Enterprise?

A social enterprise is a business with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community.

Social enterprises tackle a wide range of social and environmental issues and operate in all parts of the economy. By using business solutions to achieve public good, the Government believes that social enterprises have a distinct and valuable role to play in helping create a strong, sustainable and socially inclusive economy.

Why are community interest companies needed?

Social enterprises are an exciting and fast-growing sector. The Government wants to support the sector by creating a modern and appropriate legal vehicle and to help raise their profile.

What does a community interest company do?

CICs are organisations pursuing social objectives, such as environmental improvement, community transport, fair trade etc. Social enterprises are playing an increasing role in regenerating disadvantaged areas, empowering local communities and delivering new, innovative services at local level.

How will we know that CICs are acting in the public interest?
